The funding mechanism for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) has lapsed. There’s no current timetable for Congress to extend it, and another short-term patch will not work. Sixteen states will be out of money by January 31, 2018.
The program covers 9 million children from families with incomes too high to qualify for Medicaid but low enough to be able to access affordable health insurance for their children.
This is a highly successful, bipartisan, popular program. Call your senators and ask them to pass a funding bill to pay for CHIP immediately. 844-241-1141
