Attention WISE members interested in Animal Welfare: PETA’s May Town Hall meeting

Much of the progress that we achieve with your generous support—from bringing relief to lonely, chained “backyard dogs” to stopping deadly experiments on animals—results from highly visible campaigns. But some of our most groundbreaking victories occur somewhere that few supporters have a chance to see: the inside of a courtroom.

PETA’s legal team is a driving force behind some of the most significant victories that the animal rights movement has ever seen. Its expertise and determination have helped secure the first-ever convictions of factory-farm employees for abusing pigs, the first case involving animals in laboratories to be considered by the U.S. Supreme Court, and the first-ever ruling of a dangerous “ag-gag” law as unconstitutional as well as many, many other precedent-setting cases.

On Wednesday, May 9, at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT, we’ll be hosting a special town hall meeting to give you an inside glimpse at the largest and most effective legal team working for animal rights in the world.

Jeff Kerr, PETA Foundation senior vice president and general counsel to PETA, will join PETA Senior Vice President Kathy Guillermo, PETA Foundation Director of Animal Law Jared Goodman, and me for an in-depth discussion of PETA’s critical legal work for animals.

PETA will call you directly at 4106939947 shortly before the 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT meeting on May 9, so please be near your phone and, if you’d like to watch the presentation visuals online, near your computer, too. The day before the call, we’ll send out details for logging on to participate. We encourage you to join us online, where we’ll be showing compelling images from PETA’s most recent work for animals. If your number as listed here has changed, please let us know right away.

This town hall meeting will be a great opportunity for you to learn more about one of the most important (and not often seen) parts of PETA’s work for animals. I hope you’ll join us for it.

Kind regards,

Ben Williamson

Senior International Media Director
