I was trying to find some really good quote to inspire you. I thought back on the first email I sent to anyone and everyone I knew, encouraging them to join the Woman’s March in DC. I was so depressed about the election I felt I needed to do SOMETHING. Marching helped. Looking around at the huge crowds, I figured things couldn’t go too wrong if this many people were equally outraged.
Well that part didn’t work out so well. But I still think about that quote:
“Women, if the soul of the nation is to be saved, I believe that you must become its soul.” – Coretta Scott King’
By now you must have heard this quote a million times. But it really IS up to us. And we must speak up and we must march in large numbers to show that we are outraged. . . that this isn’t normal.
Please march with us. Voice your opinion while you can. Every dictatorship began with a complacent population that thought, “That couldn’t happen here”. Well it can. And it is.
So if you’re looking for a good place to start or to continue to express your disapproval of Session, Miller and Trump’s awful acts against immigrant families, . . .join us. March to voice your disapproval of Trump’s heartless tactics of incarcerating and separating defenseless children.
You will be part of history, as there will be marches all over the country this Saturday to support “Keeping Immigrant Families Together”.
