My name is Nicole Hanson -Mundell, I’m executive director of Out for Justice. The year we are partnering with Jobs Opportunities Taskforce to host JOBS & JUSTICE lobby day. Out for Justice would love to partner with you again this year!
This year, our annual lobby day will be taking place on Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 from 9 am to 3 pm. We will march to and rally in front of the State Capital to urge support for policies that seek to eliminate educational and employment barriers and increase access to JOBS and JUSTICE for all Marylanders.
Attendees can expect to learn more about and meet with legislators around the following topics:

Criminal Record Expungement – HB 13/SB 238 and HB 977/SB 833

Decriminalizing Poverty – HB 1267, HB 566, and HB 351/SB 235
-
Women’s Pre-Release Center – HB 715/SB 419 and HB 710/SB 821
-
Voting Rights for Eligible Detainees – HB 252
-
Juvenile Justice – HB 11/ SB 452
Additionally, attendees will be encouraged to participate in live phone banking, attend afternoon #JusticeDialogues, meetings with legislators and committee bill hearings on these issues. Specific information regarding the bill hearings will be released soon. Breakfast and lunch WILL be provided.
PLEASE BRING YOUR ID WITH YOU TO THIS EVENT. It will be needed to get into the House, Senate, and State House buildings. Transportation will be available to and from Annapolis. Buses will depart select locations in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties. (If your county is not listed, but you have at least 25 people who are interested in attending and traveling via bus, please email yanet@jotf.org.)
If you are available to act as a bus lead, please let me know by the end of this week and send a list of confirmed participants by March 6th. In addition, please have people in need of transportation fill out this BRIEF survey so we can make sure we’ve captured all appropriate bus locations:
