I. COVID safety issues in our schools

Our speakers will be Anne Arundel school teachers Kristina Korona (from Meade HS) and Minna Kim (from North Glenn Elementary).

They, along with Jorge Cordova (from Arundel HS), are co-founders of an informal grassroots progressive caucus inside of the TAAC teachers’ union called The Caucus of Anne Arundel Rank and File Educators (CAARE).  They will speak to us about COVID safety in our schools and will provide us with some suggested actions to encourage administrators and policy makers to adopt the needed support and rules to implement sensible policies for COVID-safety in the schools.

II. How can we influence the elections?

Our speaker, Betsy Krieger is a co-founder of Be the Change, an all-volunteer group that was created in 2017 to help people learn how they can be most effective in supporting social justice issues and candidates in whatever time they have available.  Since June, Be the Change has focused entirely on the election and Betsy will be speaking about how we can get involved in these last days.  (The audience is invited to also post their suggestions in chat).
