WISE General Meeting Dec. 14th, 7pm – Healthcare: the intersection of change

We often think of the term healthcare when asked for our co-pay at an appointment or when we have to pick up a prescription, but the reality is healthcare intersects so many important facets of society today. In fact healthcare is the leading issue out-of-state political workers are using to garner to bipartisan support during the latest election cycle. Why, because every American needs quality, affordable, reliable healthcare; regardless of political affiliation.
Creating this reality for America will not only require a rework of the current medical system, but also far reaching systemic change, especially for communities that continually suffer a disproportionate rate of chronic illnesses and premature death. Many of the financial burdens of the healthcare system can be addressed and/or eliminated long before they ever manifest into long term costly health issues.
Join the WISE Healthcare Huddle and Women’s Issues Huddle as they co-host and highlight some important intersections of change and healthcare WISE members can advocate for right now. We are excited to announce presentations from Prince George’s County Family Violence and Special Victims Unit, Maryland Citizens Health Initiative, Reproductive Justice Inside, and NARAL Pro-Choice Access Team Leaders.
