Candidates

WISE is a non partisan platform of information and action on priority issues for women in Maryland. It is dedicated to providing objective information and opportunities for action on a range of issues through its Huddles. It follows pertinent legislation and political campaigns in order to educate women about who is representing our interests most effectively. WISE also seeks to hold public officials to account on a range of priority issues including budgets for public schools, gun and violence prevention, development and the environment and racial equality.

WISE does not endorse political candidates as it believes in the power of information and the capacity of smart women to make their own decisions. It has agreed, however, to facilitate a link to its membership for candidates who share WISE’s mission and priorities.

All candidates who are running for office in 2018 were sent a letter asking them to confirm their position on key issues. Copies of the letters are attached below.

While WISE is not offering any formal endorsements, click here to see profiles of the candidates who share WISE’s position and priorities as per their responses to our letter.
