Race, Money, and Democracy with Rev. Stephen Tillett

The Rev. Stephen A. Tillett, president of the Anne Arundel County Branch of the NAACP, heads a panel on race and its implications for democratic governance. Join in this important discussion and learn about ways you can help to restore representative democracy and secure voting rights for all citizens.
Tillett will also sign copies of his new book, Stop Falling for the Okeydoke: How the Lie of ‘Race’ Continues to Undermine Our Country.
William Ellis, Professor of Political Studies in the Dep’t of History & Political Studies of Washington Adventist University, will join the panel. Prof. Ellis has had a distinguished career as a social policy expert, and his career includes a stint with the Congressional Research Service.
Diamonte Brown will round out the panel. She is an educator, activist for literacy and criminal justice reform, and Get Money Board Member.
This event coincides with the eighth anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s infamous ruling in Citizens United v. FEC, which effectively abolished limits on corporate campaign spending.
